Committees |
We Grow Dreams, Inc. established four committees to oversee day to day activities. Each of the committees has a chairperson and reports to the Board of Directors monthly on the committee activities. Following is a list of the committees and chairpersons:
1. Human Resources – Holly Riordan & Laurie Staple
- The purpose of the Human Resources Committee is to develop a comprehensive human resources plan for participants and job coaches.
- Develops Policy & Procedures manual and schedules training for Team members and volunteers
- Collects information for background checks and permissions needed.
- Internal communication and implementation of payment system for Team Members.
2. Job Training & Education – Art Swanson
- The purpose of the Job Training & Education Committee is to develop and implement a comprehensive job training program for individuals with disabilities and the associated job coaching program.
- Develops specific tasks needed for jobs and works with Team members and volunteers to educate and train them on the various jobs.
- Utilizes local community resources to develop additional job training opportunities.
3. Capital/Facility Improvements – Laurie Staple & Joanne Schubert
- The purpose of the Capital/Facility Improvements Committee is to assess and implement a short-term facility improvement plan and a long-term capital improvement plan for the We Grow Dreams Greenhouse & Garden Center with the input and assistance of the General Manager.
- Oversees and prioritizes the greenhouse needs, makes recommendations for improvements and manages onsite work needed.
4. Fundraising/ Marketing & PR – Donna Jarmusz & Nancy Possinger
- The purpose of the Fundraising/Marketing & PR Committee is to create community awareness of We Grow Dreams, its mission and the individuals it services.
- Solicits local and regional individual benefactors and local, regional and national foundations and civic organizations to fund job training/employment programs.
- Develops promotional materials, special events and fundraising activities.
- Communicates information on activities, participant’s successes and funds raised to the community, families and volunteers
